A June round-up

Here for example is a three week separation in growth on the pottager plot:

Sunshine and Rain
Over the last two weeks we have had the extremes of weather. To start off with a prolonged hot and dry spell. Water and sunscreen were both needed. It did mean three long sessions on consecutive days weeding, tidying and getting everything back in order again.
After this, the rain came as we returned to work: heavy and prolonged over a number of days. We didn't get the chance to spend any time weeding, but have harvested the first broad beans (yumm) and a few strawberries that didn't make it off the plot!
