What better way to spend a birthday than alottmenting?
What better birthday present than to suddenly find that the autumn planted asparagus (Pacific 2000) has survived and is starting to shoot. Pity we can't harvest it this year! All the rhubarb crowns planted in the autumn have now come into life as well.
Broad Beans (Sutton) are now coming on OK:
Sweet Peas have been planted round one of a series of wigwams:
The first of the cauliflowers have been planted out:
The spring cabbage has recovered and is looking good:
Garlic is strong (pun!):
The plot overall looks busy once more:
Lots more broad beans and peas:
All three varieties of Autumn planted raspberries have shoots:
And finally the old junk heap has been cleared to create another rather rickety compost:
