No photos today, I'm afraid.
It has been a dull and cool day after the heat of the last week.
Three hours wizzed by, as I prepared four wigwams (for sweet peas, main crop peas and french beans), tidied up, sowed another row of Sutton Broad Beans, and carried on work on the composts.
It should soon be ready for visits from Captain Custard and crew.

Live from the shed door...
Just having a rest after planting the early potatoes, some land cress, salad leaves and Pak Choi.
Glorious sunshine .... Now back to work ......

Weekend work
1. General tidy up continues
2. Bean tench filled in and poles erected
3. Parsnips sown
4. Radishes sown to mark parsnips.
I rather foolishly ignored the RHS frost alert on the iphone app last night and lost most of my Roma tomatoes in the greenhouse.

Sunny March lunchtime on the allotment.
A very busy few hours, but time for a sit down as well.
I was trying to capture all the birdsong, and the children playing at school in the distance... then a train came past.
All the potato trenches are ready now.

Cheap Cloches
A quick trip to Wickes has resulted in some very serviceable and comparatively cheap cloches.
Two 2m lengths of corrugated polycarbonate has made one long and one short cloche, with the four end panels. They also sell 3m lengths, but my car isn't that long.
I just use hoops of pipe and some stakes to hold it all in place. The short one is protecting some lettuces and the long one some early carrot sowings.
